Dear sir or madam!
I am writing to express my interest in an AB/Deckhand position onboard an offshore vessel or installation in mixed or English speaking crew. Additionally, I can be useful as a welder.
During last 5 years, I have gained rich experience as a seaman and as a member of a deck crew as well as I have obtained professional skills in rigging, mooring, steering a ship, cargo measurement, watching, assistance officer in charge using such navigation equipment as radar, ECDIS, AIS. Also, during my last contract, I was in a role of AB/Deck Fitter. My job was producing, renewing and changing cable supports, installing new switch boxes, changing old rusted stair-posts, changing platform at top of foremast, installing other deck equipment. From time to time I was in charge as an AB, helping Chief Officer, Bosun.
I am a fluent PC user, easily mastering unfamiliar OS, programs and user interfaces and speak English at upper intermediate level.
Furthermore, I have obtained rich skills in operations with cranes onboard oil tankers. I operated big ship cranes, handling with heavy lifts, as well I worked with small provision ones. Additionally, I have gone through training in “Lerus” Training Center, Odessa, and acquired expanded theoretical knowledge and hands-on course on a crane simulator. Now I feel myself confident working on cranes and want to get further crane experience.
I also have been constantly preparing myself for work in English speaking crew. I have been continually studding English taking relevant courses and have obtained communication skills with native English speakers.
From all my last jobs I have only very good references, which I think could appear just because I always do all my best to perform accurate, qualified and well-timed results in all my professional activities and this is why I feel a hope sending you this letter and anticipate you will arrange a job interview with me soon.
Yours, sincerely.
Furthermore, I have obtained rich experience in rigging, mooring, steering a ship, cargo measurement, watching, assistance officer in charge using such navigation equipment as radar, ECDIS, AIS. I also used to be in a role of a welder onboard. I can perform minor hot works as well as making-up big cracks and further complicated, multistep welding (MIG/MAG, MMA). I am a fluent PC user, easily mastering unfamiliar OS, programs and user interfaces and speak English at good intermediate level.
As you can see in my resume, due to my family circumstances, I was forced to work ashore, having short-time jobs as a plaster and last year I worked as a system administrator (see CV for details). However, I have been constantly preparing myself for working as an offshore crane operator, taking relevant courses and training, as well as I have been continually studding English and have obtained communication skills with native English speakers.
